Biography
Founded in 2000, London based Los Desterrados (Spanish for outcast or exile) explore the underrated world of Spanish Gypsy music immersed in Judeo-Spanish musical traditions. By careful selection, the group is able to add a modern approach to many songs in this vein.
After two album releases (to date) and many sell out gigs, Los Desterrados have built a loyal following of individuals and families expecting a good night out.
“… Whenever you come to a Desterrados gig, consider yourself in the tribe…!”
Review
It is impossible to ignore this group’s mystical Spanish Gypsy core, but there is just so much going on here!
A delightful blend of Flamenco, tango and gypsy rhythms, with fresh twists of blues, rock and a touch of classical elegance thrown in for good measure. A record store’s genre-labelling nightmare (Love it).
This was a wonderful party atmosphere, unforced audience participation with a family orientated vibe. You really felt the essence of each musician, and felt the group as whole enjoyed every minute on stage.
