Biography
Ayse Tütüncü, Oguz Büyükberber and Yahya
Dai worked together for several years before actually establishing
themselves as a trio in 2004.
The trio perform compositions composed by Ayse Tütüncü
especially arranged for two wind instruments and the piano. The
arrangements are based on the interplay with the two wind instruments
and their interaction with the piano. The common pair is soprano
saxophone and bass clarinet, although in some compositions the Bb
clarinet and tenor saxophone are used.
Ayse Tütüncü’s music has been described as
a special blend of western classical and contemporary music, jazz
with influences of a variety of traditions.
The album “Carnivalesque” (released November 2006)
includes contributions from classic tango genius Astor Piazzolla,
composer and multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Carla Bley. All
compostions are arranged by Ayse Tütüncü. The improvisations,
as always, belong to the moment...
