I continued to receive other branded isolation / decoupling devices from various hi-fi companies to demo. I was therefore happy to continue testing over several months. However, I always swiftly returned to the WellFloat Board Slim Model 3534S!

‘The unforced, natural flow of music through the speakers spoke volumes. The overall presentation was not just ‘different’ than when using other component isolation, it was markedly better in every musical shape and form…I found myself quickly becoming absorbed into the music itself. WellFloat Board Slim Model 3534SF were already in permanent position under my Qualiton P200 amplifier and AMG Viella V12 turntable. Further listening tests proceeded with WellFloat Board Slim Model 3534SF under my Qualiton C200 preamplifier and then progressed with a board under my Whest PS.40RDT special edition phono stage. Each addition provided obvious musical presentation improvements.

In some cases I was forgetting the stylus had reached the final track on albums and was surprised when music faded into the blank space at the end of records. I also realised I was now listening for even longer periods than before and losing track of time altogether. I now cannot imagine listening to music with any single board removed!

WellFloat isolation devices may not be within everybody’s budget. It took me several years and many sacrifices to get to the point where I could even consider looking at components or accessories at this price level.

I recommend anyone in love with music to invest the time to explore the various isolation / decoupling devices available. Music & HI-FI is not a one size fits all (or one component or device fits all) world. Initially it may appear that a cheaper, more readily available device might be ‘doing the job.’ You may even believe initial results to be subtle, however, medium – to longer term listening may reveal sonic differences which can be the difference between a one hour listening session, or perhaps a five hour plus joyous musical experience!
